Product description
Time Alignment
Time-correcting phase shift for more precise positioning of vocals and instruments in the soundstage.
Constant Directivity Concept
Our newly designed waveguide and phase plug ensure broad and smooth sound dispersion.
Damping chamber
The specially designed sound-damping chamber takes advantage of the Helmholtz Resonance Principle to make your audio sound exactly right. This effectively eliminates the formation of standing waves and undesirable resonances within the cabinet.
Down-firing bass reflex system
The down-firing bass reflex system makes it possible to place these speakers near a wall without affecting the overall dynamics.
The Theater 500 take their technological cues from world of high-end audio to create a natural listening experience with a deep bass foundation for music, movies, and games.

Reviews & Press Coverage
Many customers praise the warm, balanced sound of the Theater 500: rich, controlled bass, clear mids, and high resolution trebles. The high-quality craftsmanship, sleek design, easy setup (downfiring bass allows for wall proximity), and versatility for music and home cinema are frequently mentioned. Some customers note that only small adhesive feet are provided instead of stable spikes.

"Spectacular bass and a great midrange"
“The Teufel Theater 500 are enjoyable speakers that deliver a level of sound quality well beyond what their price would suggest. Their bass performance is particularly impressive and, as mentioned, genuinely excellent. They also offer a refined, well-resolved midrange that integrates seamlessly with the bass.”
"The THEATER 500 speakers deliver a big, room-filling sound..."
“In my opinion, however, the most impressive aspect of these speakers is their midrange. [...] For their price class, the THEATER 500 delivers a surprisingly accomplished midrange. Paired with high-quality audio equipment, they reproduce crisp, fast snare drum hits, clear and uncoloured vocals, and the natural resonance of string instruments.”
“It’s a joy to listen to!"
“One thing is certain: the Teufel Theater 500 is simply great fun to listen to. Much of that comes from its deep, rich bass performance. […] The Theater 500 not only reaches impressively low, but does so with remarkable control, staying tight, clean, and free from muddiness."
“Whether it’s vocals, instruments, or sound effects, the sound is more detailed and the stereo image becomes even more immersive.”
“The Theater 500 floorstanding speaker is the visually and technically refined successor to the T 500 Mk2. Its appearance has been significantly updated: while the T 500 Mk2 featured a recessed tweeter and a somewhat busy-looking front baffle, the Theater 500, introduced the following year, has a far more sophisticated, timeless, and elegant design.”"During testing, the Theater 500 stood out with exceptionally tight, controlled yet authoritative bass, superbly layered vocal reproduction, and excellent spaciousness. Considering its very competitive price, it would be difficult to find a more accomplished speaker for less.”
Score: 98/100
We were thoroughly impressed by this Teufel product. Its excellent pair of Hi-Fi stereo floorstanding speakers deliver natural sound with powerful bass. It also features a three-way design with two high-performance woofers for exceptionally deep bass, as well as time-alignment technology for an immersive, three-dimensional listening experience.
In summary, this is a product we wholeheartedly recommend.
Heavy-duty floorstanding speakers for deep bass enthusiasts
A long-established German manufacturer that is still relatively unknown in France, Teufel takes an unconventional approach, setting itself well apart from traditional hi-fi conventions. Large yet affordable (€700), its Theater 500 floorstanding speakers are designed for both music listening and home cinema, with few comparable alternatives currently available on the market.
