For space reasons I had to part with my medium-sized stereo floorstanding loudspeakers. I was looking for a passive 2.1 system, which doesn't consist of two small cubes for the upper frequency range and a subwoofer, then I'm not convinced of it both sonic and optical. I also wanted to continue using my CD receiver, which excluded sound bar systems. The Varion "2.1-Set" had aroused my interest and I really wanted to test it in my own four walls at my conditions, which is why I ordered it spontaneously and got it delivered two days later.
I am impressed and super satisfied. For a system of this price class it sounds excellent. Especially for my listening habits (household with small children: either background music, mixed with a lot of background noise, or watching movies in the evening slightly above room volume) the system is absolutely sufficient. Fresh and present sound, clear voices, good basic range, soft and deep bass. Plays pleasantly in the background, without missing the deep tones, but also sufficiently intense if necessary. The subwoofer is located in a corner in the immediate vicinity of the loudspeakers, which hang directly next to the TV set on the wall in an approx. 35m² large living room with a hard floor, many glass surfaces and quite high reverberation time.
The discreet appearance and the surprisingly good sound don't make me regret this purchase.
It's just a pity that the VESA mounting system for the "flying" mounting of the speakers to the TV is quite price-intensive. Otherwise, I'd have ordered that too.
